Tata Motors has secured its largest-ever commercial vehicle order in Indonesia, marking a significant milestone in the company’s international growth strategy.
The Indian automotive major will supply 70,000 commercial vehicles to support agricultural and rural logistics development across Indonesia, reinforcing the rising global acceptance of Indian commercial vehicle solutions.
The order has been secured through PT Tata Motors Distribusi Indonesia, a wholly owned indirect subsidiary of Tata Motors.
The vehicles will be supplied to PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara, an Indonesian state-owned enterprise focused on modernising agricultural supply chains and strengthening national food security initiatives.
Under the agreement, Tata Motors will supply 35,000 units each of the Tata Yodha pick-up and the Tata Ultra T.7 truck.
The fleet will be deployed under Indonesia’s Koperasi Desa and Kelurahan Merah Putih Project, a strategic government initiative aimed at improving farm-to-market connectivity, reducing logistics costs, and strengthening rural livelihoods.
The delivery of vehicles will be executed in phases to ensure seamless integration and operational efficiency across Indonesia’s logistics ecosystem.
The Tata Yodha pick-up is designed as a rugged last-mile mobility solution, capable of operating in demanding rural conditions where terrain, load-handling capability, and reliability are critical.

Meanwhile, the Tata Ultra T.7 truck is positioned as a modern logistics vehicle engineered for durability, high uptime, and driver comfort, enabling efficient goods movement across both urban and rural transport networks.
This landmark order highlights the growing trust in Indian commercial vehicles in global markets.
Commenting on the development, Asif Shamim, Director of PT Tata Motors Distribusi Indonesia, stated that the contract reflects strong customer confidence in Tata Motors’ ability to deliver reliable and efficient transport solutions across diverse operating conditions.
He emphasised that both the Yodha and Ultra T.7 are engineered for sustained performance and cost-effective operations, making them well-suited for Indonesia’s agricultural logistics requirements.
The deal also reinforces Tata Motors’ strong international presence. The company currently markets its commercial vehicle portfolio across more than 40 countries, offering solutions ranging from sub-one-tonne cargo vehicles to heavy-duty trucks and mass mobility platforms.
The development follows closely on the heels of another major Indonesian order secured by Mahindra & Mahindra, which recently announced a 35,000-unit supply contract for Scorpio Pik-up vehicles.
