Solaris has secured a contract with PKM Gliwice, the public transport operator in Gliwice, Poland, to deliver 10 new battery-electric buses.
The order includes seven articulated Solaris Urbino 18 electric buses and three Urbino 12 electric buses, all scheduled for delivery in November 2025.
This marks a continued partnership between Solaris and the city, as Gliwice already operates eight electric buses from the manufacturer.

A Long-Standing Partnership
PKM Gliwice has been a loyal customer of Solaris since 2005, with the manufacturer having supplied over 170 buses to the city’s public transport network.
The latest order for electric vehicles aligns with the city’s ongoing efforts to embrace environmentally friendly and passenger-centric transportation solutions.
This new fleet of electric buses will further enhance the city’s commitment to sustainability and reducing emissions.

Features of the Urbino Electric Buses
The new Urbino electric buses will feature advanced technology, including electric motors for zero emissions during operation.
The shorter Urbino 12 electric buses will be equipped with 400 kWh batteries, while the longer Urbino 18 articulated buses will have larger 700 kWh batteries, offering a greater driving range.
Both bus models will have fast-charging capabilities through an inverted pantograph system, which allows for efficient charging at designated transport hubs throughout the city.
The buses will also be equipped with modern passenger conveniences, including air conditioning, a passenger information system, electronic ticketing, and payment options, as well as a passenger counting system.
Safety has been prioritized with features like blind-spot detection, front-area monitoring, and digital surveillance cameras. Additionally, an alcolock system will be installed in each bus for further safety assurance.
