MTC 2000 Pass: Now Ride Unlimited on All Buses, Including AC Services Across Chennai

The Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) has introduced a new MTC 2000 Pass that allows unlimited travel across all categories of buses, including the highly sought-after air-conditioned (AC) services. This pass is priced at ₹2,000 per month and is part of a larger push to enhance urban mobility in Chennai.
Inaugurated by Transport Minister S S Sivasankar at the Mandaveli bus depot, this MTC 2000 Pass is now available at all MTC depots and sales centres, providing unmatched convenience and travel flexibility for daily commuters.

Currently, MTC operates 50 AC buses that serve major high-demand routes, offering comfortable and eco-friendly alternatives for regular travel.

MTC’s Electric Vision for 2025
As part of its sustainable urban mobility plans, MTC is set to roll out a massive fleet expansion:
- 650 electric buses to be introduced soon
- 225 out of these will be AC electric buses
- AC electric services expected by May or June
These new electric buses will also be covered under the MTC 2000 Pass, making it a forward-thinking investment for Chennai’s eco-conscious travelers.
