Daimler Unveils the Mercedes-Benz eCitaro K at IAA Transportation 2024 | Specifications
Daimler Truck has launched the Mercedes-Benz eCitaro K, a 10.63-meter all-electric bus designed for urban and suburban routes with a range of over 300 kilometers. The bus features advanced safety systems, a turning radius of 17.28 meters, and a battery capacity of 491 kWh.
At the IAA Transportation 2024 in Hannover, Daimler Buses introduced the Mercedes-Benz eCitaro K, a 10.63-meter variant of their successful eCitaro line. This all-electric, low-floor bus is designed for both urban and suburban routes, offering a compact size that makes it ideal for navigating narrow and winding streets.
The Mercedes-Benz eCitaro K has a turning radius of just 17.28 meters, allowing it to handle tight corners easily. It has a passenger capacity of up to 84, making it suitable for busy city routes.
Its wheelbase measures 4,398 millimeters, approximately 1.5 meters shorter than the standard 2.14-meter-long eCitaro, enhancing its maneuverability.
Along with the eCitaro K, Daimler Truck also showcased the Mercedes-Benz Tourismo Safety Coach and the Setra MultiClass S 510 LE hybrid at the IAA Transportation 2024.

Mercedes-Benz eCitaro K Range
Daimler Truck reports that the Mercedes-Benz eCitaro K is capable of covering distances exceeding 300 kilometers under optimal conditions and with maximum capacity configuration.
In terms of power, the eCitaro K features five high-voltage battery packs with a combined capacity of 491 kWh. Three of these packs are mounted on the roof, while the remaining two are located at the rear.
The bus supports plug-in charging at the depot and can be equipped with charging sockets in various locations, including above the front axle or at the rear.

Safety Features
The Mercedes-Benz eCitaro is equipped with a new 360° camera system to assist drivers with maneuvering in tight spaces and busy environments.
The bus is also equipped with the following safety features:

- Frontguard Assist
- Tyre Pressure Monitoring System
- Traffic Sign Assist
- Attention Assist
Additional safety features include an optional speed limiter set at 33 km/h and an Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System.
The driver’s cab is designed with a full-width partition for added distance and an active air filter with antiviral properties to ensure a healthy environment on board.

Mercedes-Benz eCitaro K Interiors
Inside, the eCitaro K offers a comfortable and welcoming environment for passengers. Seats are upholstered in a vibrant black and yellow fabric, and the bus features yellow ceiling handrails and wood-effect flooring to create a fresh and pleasant atmosphere.
There is a designated area for wheelchairs or pushchairs and a rearward-facing seat that can be folded up. The vehicle can also be fitted with additional folding seats if needed. All these features are framed by anthracite metallic paintwork (including on detachable parts)
Passengers can charge their devices at one of the 14 double USB sockets available throughout the bus.
