Malappuram, Oct 3: The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has unveiled a new bus service to provide seamless connectivity for passengers disembarking from the Vande Bharat Express train at Tirur railway station and heading towards Malappuram.

This launch of these special KSRTC buses is set to address the transportation needs of those traveling from Thiruvananthapuram – Kasaragod Vande Bharat Express via Alappuzha.

The inaugural run of the KSRTC Vande Bharat Connect bus service started on for Tuesday, October 3. The service will commence directly from Tirur railway station.

KSRTC Vande Bharat Connect Bus Schedule

The schedule of the KSRTC buses connecting the Thiruvananthapuram – Kasaragod Vande Bharat Express is as follows:

  • Departure from Manjeri: 7:00 PM
  • Arrival at Tirur railway station: 8:40 PM
  • Arrival time of Thiruvananthapuram-Kasaragod Vande Bharat at Tirur: 8:52 PM

Benefit For Passengers

The KSRTC Vande Bharat Connect bus service will immensely help passengers. Some of the key benefits are as follows:

  • This connection bus service proves particularly beneficial for passengers from Malappuram returning from Thiruvananthapuram via the Vande Bharat Express. Currently, there are limited public transportation options available at the time of the Vande Bharat’s arrival in Tirur.
  • Passengers will no longer have to rely on private vehicles to reach home.
  • Passengers alighting at Tirur from the Alappuzha – Kannur Executive Express (at 8:36 PM) and the Puducherry – Mangaluru Express (at 8:48 PM) will also find this service advantageous.
  • Long-distance travelers towards Malappuram, who previously faced a lack of night buses from Changuvetty on the national highway, will now have a viable solution.
  • The introduction of this night bus service also caters to travelers heading towards Kasaragod from Tirur during the nighttime.

Overall, the state government aims to make night travel easier for passengers with the introduction of the KSRTC Vande Bharat Connect bus service.
