BMTC bus ads in 3000 Non-AC buses To Boost Cash-Strapped Corporation’s Revenue

New BMTC Bus Routes Announced - Route 410-AB/10, Route 215-M, Route MF-20/1

To enhance its revenue, the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) is rolling out a new initiative – BMTC bus ads.

The initiative will include 3,000 non-AC BMTC buses wrapped with advertisements to generate significant income while offering advertisers prime visibility across the city.

While the decision to exercise this initiative was taken earlier in 2024, the tenders for the same have already been awarded according to BMTC BMTC Chief Traffic Manager GT Prabhakar Reddy.

It has to be noted that this is not the first time that BMTC going to feature advertisements on its buses.

“This isn’t the first instance of the corporation implementing full-wrap advertisements. Previously, BMTC bus ads were introduced on air-conditioned buses, and now it has been expanded to include non-AC buses as well. A total of 3,000 non-AC buses will now feature these full-body advertisements,” Reddy was quoted as saying by the New Indian Express.

For advertisers, BMTC bus ads offer an opportunity to target a large, diverse audience across different parts of the city.

Guidelines for BMTC Bus Ads

There are specific rules for placing the BMTC bus ads. Each ad will cover up to 350 square feet of bus space, excluding windows and seat backs. The ads cannot obstruct key information like the BMTC logo, registration number, or depot details.

Focus on Sustainability

Moreover, the materials used for these ads must be eco-friendly, in line with BMTC’s commitment to sustainability.

This ensures that the BMTC bus ads are effective and environmentally responsible.

Focus on Kannada in BMTC Bus Ads

All ads will be displayed in Kannada, making them more relevant and accessible to the local population. This decision ensures the ads resonate with a wide range of commuters and align with the city’s language preferences.
